There was a lot of squawking from her then, but all it amounted to was her bringing up the thing with Greg Janssen and Lana M. a few times (who cares), threatening to call my mom (fine), and telling me there would be consequences for this. She got really animated about the whole thing. If I didn’t know any better, I’d say J.T. looked practically embarrassed for her.

I just let her talk. It’s not like I’ve never gotten yelled at like this before, so everything she said just kind of washed over me. If anything, I was relieved to be off the floor again, putting my painful past novel behind me.

We made our way back to the main building, and I saw Tony C. sneaking out a good distance behind us, totally unnoticed.

June is less into my belief in cosmic destiny than I am.
